The Art of Creating Connection

As the graphic designer, artist, and interior designer for La Casita, the vision was never just to create something aesthetically pleasing—it was to build a space that resonated emotionally and lingered in memory. Every detail, from the visual identity to the physical layout, was approached as part of a larger story. The goal was to guide guests into an environment that felt intentional, human, and deeply connected.

Design rooted in a method known as sensory storytelling

a philosophy that engages the five senses to evoke emotion, comfort, and presence. By activating sight, taste, smell, sound, and touch, the experience becomes more than a stay—it becomes a feeling. A place where guests feel at home, inspired, and remembered.

Visual: The brand identity, logo, and printed materials were designed to create a cohesive experience. Thoughtful use of lighting, art, and decor brought warmth and comfort, making La Casita visually unforgettable.

Taste: Local coffee and handmade treats added a personal touch, creating a true sense of place.

Smell: Natural scents—fresh air, clean linens, and wood—were emphasized, avoiding synthetic fragrances to create a pure, calming atmosphere.

Sound: Unwanted noise was minimized, while natural sounds were enhanced. Inside, speakers and a guitar were added for an extra layer of connection.

Touch: Textures like stone, wood, and linen were layered to create a tactile experience that guests could feel and remember.

Guests connect differently through each sense, and by engaging all five, something was created for everyone to bond with. This method—sensory storytelling—was applied throughout La Casita. And it works.

PRIMARY LOGO

The La Casita logo captures the heart of its brand with a simple, modern silhouette of the house itself, framed by a rising sun that represents the hot weather and full sun of Texas. Using flat colors and clean lines, the design blends retro charm with contemporary style. Vibrant blue and red tones bring a sense of warmth and energy, while the bold white text “LA CASITA” in all caps and a modern font adds a fresh, minimal touch. Altogether, the logo reflects a space that’s both nostalgic and forward-thinking—inviting, vibrant, and full of character.

The La Casita Café logo features a hand-crafted armadillo, a nod to its Texas roots. Used for the coffee bar inside La Casita, the design has a warm, artisanal feel that adds character and complements the cozy, personal vibe of the space.

Booking Website

The La Casita website is a clean yet colorful extension of the brand, designed to feel both modern and welcoming. It allows guests to book directly or through Airbnb, with synced calendars to avoid double bookings. The site also features a full list of amenities and a photo gallery, making it easy for guests to explore the space before they arrive.

Guest Web App

The La Casita web app was designed as a digital companion to support guests throughout their stay. It centralizes essential information such as check-in/check-out times, local restaurant and destination recommendations, and practical how-to guides for in-home features like the hot tub, AC, TV, and music system. The goal was to create a seamless, user-friendly experience that reflects the thoughtful, sensory approach behind La Casita’s design.

Marketing Materials

La Casita’s marketing materials—like printed house guides, stickers, and other small touches—were designed to carry the brand experience throughout a guest’s stay. Using the signature color palette of light blue, blue, and red, each piece reinforces the playful, modern identity of the space while keeping things thoughtful and cohesive.

Photography

The photography for La Casita was captured using a lifestyle approach, showcasing the space through natural light and everyday moments. Featured on the booking website and in marketing, the images highlight the home as a warm, lived-in retreat, helping guests imagine their own experience there.
